Here's another one that falls into the category of "it's going to be hard to screw this one up"... It's been confirmed today that Cate Blanchett has signed on to play Maid Marian in Ridley Scott's upcoming retelling of the tale of Robin Hood. The cast also includes Russell Crowe in the title role, along with William Hurt and Vanessa Redgrave.
I just don't see the possibility of a bad movie here... do you??
Also flying around the internet today is the news that Samuel L. Jackson has agreed to reprise his role as Nick Fury in the upcoming Iron Man 2. He has also agreed to appear in up to 9 more Marvel Comics based films as Fury. This has, of course, fired up the fan boy set at the possibility of a S.H.I.E.L.D. film starring everyone's favorite "bad muthaf&cka". This would of course heal the deep wounds that were created by the awful piece of garbage that was the 1998 David Hasselhoff made-for-TV incarnation of the character.
... and lets face it Samuel L. Jackson just makes everything better.
